With a new project in the pipeline - creating a scene based on an old game and trying to capture the same feel as the game.
Mainly I felt that I needed a new desktop background for next year lol

I have started on a new awesome project
By new i mean its something ive already created but im adding more to it and putting it in a scene
I will be combining vue, max, photoshop, maybe inventor for some really funky modeling. Basically i will unleash my full graphical arsenal at this project

and best of all- its actually turning out really well so far :)

ive also had the idea of creating an animated fight scene between my robot and an AT-ST
eg: robot wrestles with the atst, smacks its head away just as it fires, the laser narrowly misses the robot by inches. The robot grabs the atst's head, and unleashes a devastating kick at its 'hips'. As the atst's head is ripped off the legs stumble stuggling to keep the mech standing before collapsing into a a heap with an almighty thud. The robot hoists the new trophy and walks off into the sunset...

Yeah im still here just finished 1st year uni. The other day i tried my hand at 3ds max for the first time in nearly a year. Wow. I REALLY suck now.

I may get back into it but ill probably only finish existing projects rather than start new stuff
Plus im getting into producing music rather than graphics

anywho, fare the well hobbits of the shire, et au revoir baguettes.

yes i know, im terrible for it, im always swapping what im working on lol

this new one is an entirely new type- ORIGAMI! (think thats how you spell it lol)

in my engineering course that im currently undertaking, theres this thing called pipework & pattern development, with it you basically design origami sheetmetal, but this could also apply to paper

the other day i learnt a new tequnique for more complex shapes, and i thought i would try it out with my star destroyer, i have all the measurements and shape at hand, so why not?

i need a break from my transforming lawnmower anyway, ive kinda stuffed up the scale of it, its too tall and skinny, im currently uploading the last update for a while

anyway, back to triangulation, orthographic projection and good old fun pattern development!

ive finally gotten around to attempting to make textures in photoshop!

a few scratches, chipped paint, a bit of dirt and blast scorch marks
was quite fun :)

anyway, i have 2 requests; 1 does anyone know how to UVW map a model like my stardestroyer? ive tried pelt mapping, it failed and planer wont cut it, tuts, techniques or advice would be appreiciated! :)
and 2: where can i find decent HDRI maps? i wanna pretty up my lighting and reflections :)
